Do’s and Don’ts of IBPS PO Exam 2017
IBPS Probationary Officer (PO) examination is around the corner, it is time for aspirants to pull up their socks and start doing last-minute tips to balance their ongoing preparation. The last precious moments or days demand a committed and diligent exam preparation. One needs to plan or stay on track to avoid any deviation from the process of learning and understanding.
There are few important things that should be kept in mind to gain momentum for the examination. ‘
- Do not lose momentum: Keep your practice stable by taking regular mock tests or rather every day. Actively analyze the tests and identify your strengths and weaknesses and work on them. Revise the weak topics to avoid any confusion during the examination.
- Everyday vocabulary dose: Spend at least 30-40 minutes each day to learn vocabulary and revise them thoroughly to improve it as much as you can. More than 3/4th of the English Language section needs strong vocabulary base.
- Prepare your test-taking strategy: Set your target and choose the time and sections you will give preference while attempting the question paper. It depends upon your target and overall last year cut-offs. Check them out and prepare yourself to target more than that by improving your speed and accuracy. One should choose the questions to be attempted first before starting the exam so that you can score well in the exam. It will give you confidence and will release your pressure of not knowing the questions as you will be focusing on what you know and you can estimate your score.
- Revise basic formulae in Arithmetic: Thoroughly revise all the formulae in Arithmetic concepts such as Profit Loss and time and speed and distance and work. It will ease your efforts of solving the questions accurately. Rest of the important topics is the Quadratic Equations / Inequalities and Data Interpretation, Simplifications and Number Series as they are mostly asked in the test year after year. Revise them to be able to solve them comfortably.
- Develop a comfortable level of solving Reasoning Ability Section: This section has puzzles and one must practice as much as one can. It is very scoring especially questions related to Blood Relations, Directions, Coding and Alphabet Series and Syllogisms. These are questions are asked regularly, therefore, try to attempt them correctly by identifying the difficulty of the puzzle. This is the time you must be aware of your difficulties tries to avoid touching difficult questions.
- Do not panic: Believe in yourself and highlight the particular questions that you would definitely solve. There is no need to be tensed or panic yourself for the questions which are out of your reach, stay calm and solve them comfortably.
- Take care of your health: Develop a healthy routine so that you are fresh and healthy on the day of your examination. Maintain a discipline to develop an automated body clock to be active throughout the day. It will keep your mind fresh and you will be able to solve the paper at ease.
- Keep your necessary documents ready: Before a week of your actual exam day, keep all your identification proofs and documents ready. You need them at the time of your entry to prove your identity. Try to avoid last time rush for these things or else you will face an unnecessary trauma in your mind which will have the adverse effect on your performance in the exam.
At last, I would advise you to keep your mind cool, do not compare yourself with others. All are equally tensed as you are, manage your tension rather than make it rule on your mind. Take a deep breath to relieve the stress. Concentrate on your strategy that you have to attempt the exam and execute it well.
