Tips to prepare for English Section of IBPS BANK EXAM

IBPS Bank Exam has various sections but English is the most challenging one. Most of the students find it difficult as they are not well-versed with the basics of English Grammar. English is not the mother tongue of India, therefore, we need to walk an extra mile to improve the skills of English Grammar.

Every year IBPS conducts various exams for different posts such as Probationary Officer Clerk, for RRB Officer and for the Specialist officer. General English section is common for all.

There are some tips which can help an aspirant to improve English Grammar these are:
  1. Improve your Vocabulary:
Vocabulary is the main element of any language. Learn the technical words which are based on the General Awareness, most of the times words based on economics and business aptitude are asked. Master them by reading as much as articles you can. 

Read the articles of the leading newspapers and mark the difficult words and find the meaning of the same. Also, note down the antonyms of the words to understand the meaning better.
  1. Prefer to use new vocabulary words in your daily life routines so that you learn the use and meaning effectively.
  2. Always carry a dictionary in your hand or download the application in your mobile.
  3. Make it a practice to solve at least 2 passages from the previous year papers and learn the new words each day given in those passages.
  4. Learn the rules of tenses thoroughly one by one covering all the figure of speech.
  5. Practice the exercises on all these topics.
  6. Practice as much as fill in the blanks as you can to understand the pattern.
  7. Develop a habit of reading the newspaper daily and novels to improve the reading speed and understanding of the language.
