How to improve English Language for IBPS PO Exam 2018?

IBPS P.O. Exam 2018 will be divided into three distinct phases which will frame the process of selection for the candidates aspiring for bank jobs in nationalized banks. 

These phases are:

Phase I – It is a preliminary (prelims) examination, which carries 100-marks held online with objective type questions. It comprises of three sections namely,; English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability. The duration of this test is 60 minutes
.
Phase II – The second phase is the mains examination, which carries 200-marks and is held online with objective type questions and it has five sections, namely, Reasoning Ability, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, and Computer Awareness. The duration of the examination is 140 minutes; though the IBPS has prescribed specifications for sectional time limits to be followed.

Phase III – This is the last phase in which interview is taken of those who have successfully cracked the exam of both the phases I and II.

Out of the entire most ignored subject by the candidates is English Language. They think that they do not need to practice any topic; they will manage the questions as it will appear in the exam. But language ethics and rules need to be practiced to get a good score in the exam. 

If you are not practicing then you will be not be able to solve them accurately and loosing marks at the end. IBPS PO Exams also has a sectional cut-off, which means if you are not getting passing marks in any of the sections but overall score is good, you will be considered FAIL. Therefore, English is as important as other subjects for IBPS PO EXAM 2018.

  • . Develop your own list of vocabulary. The words which are new to you or you do not know the meaning. Buy a dictionary of international standards such as The Oxford English Dictionary and The Merriam-Webster Dictionary. Learn at least 10 words per day with its proper usage and meaning. For a better understanding you can note down the opposite of the same also, it will enhance your word power and you will be able to understand the given text easily.
  • Develop the habit of reading novels, watching English News and TV shows. Besides these regularly read reputed magazines, newspapers, as well as journals especially related to banking and financial matters. It will improve your knowledge as well as your word power.
  • Take latest mock test series which are based on the latest exam pattern and syllabus so that you become familiar with the latest exam pattern. If there is any change and you should be able to learn the language to face any or all types of questions coming in the IBPS Exam.
These are some of the essential tips to score well in the IBPS PO Exam 2018 especially in English section which is a limiting factor for most of the candidates as they are not familiar with this language in the early stage of their schooling.
